My hypnosis sessions was an incredible experience, it felt like a deep, calming meditation that allowed me to fully relax and reset. Since then, I’ve noticed real positive changes, and it’s been such a helpful tool in my life. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a supportive and transformative experience! Thank you!Posted on ebony mckeeverTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. For most of my second pregnancy, I was preparing for another cesarean—until I discovered HypnoBirthing and connected with Rochelle Bates. What began as a search for a class turned into so much more. Rochelle is not just an instructor; she is a deeply compassionate guide who truly cares about women and their birthing experiences. From the start, she went above and beyond, engaging in multiple consultation calls to make sure that I felt most comfortable with her. I could sense her genuine care and was drawn to her education in hypnotherapy and doula expertise, which I didn’t realize would be something I could benefit from outside of our scheduled class time. She offered a personalized hypnosis session over the phone when she sensed my resistance, and even sought out additional videos that reflected positive birth experiences of Black women—because she understood that representation matters. As a Black woman myself, this gesture meant everything. Rochelle’s classes were a blend of positive birth videos, hypnosis sessions, and information. She was always flexible with scheduling, incredibly knowledgeable about insurance options, and radiated encouragement throughout my journey. Thanks to her support and guidance, I was able to have a VBAC—something I hadn’t imagined earlier in my pregnancy.. If you’re considering hypnobirthing, I wholeheartedly recommend Rochelle. Her energy is warm, empowering, and truly life-changing.Posted on Mary TaylorTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I’m so happy I found Rochelle! Hypnobirthing is putting my partner and I at ease and with Rochelle’s help we feel more confident and comfortable about the whole birthing experience. Rochelle explains everything thoroughly especially about how the hypnosis works and how to achieve deep relaxation through it. My husband and I are learning so much and highly recommend Rochelle!Posted on Michael PescasioTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Meeting Rochelle is one of the best things to happen to me. Last year I was in recovery from major heart surgery with a 40% chance of survival. I truly didn't believe I was going to make it. To complicate matters, I couldn't sleep! The lack of sleep was a huge hinderance to my recover. I thought hope was lost until I started hypnosis. I didn't realize this could help but wow, I've learned. After just a few over the phone sessions, I regained control of my sleep. It's been over a year but with Rochelle's coaching and techniques I am able to sleep whenever and wherever I want. I am so grateful and could never find a way to thank her enough. I highly recommend Rochelle's hypnotherapy treatments and coaching it's life saving👍🏽😇Posted on Brian FeeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. With Rochelle you immediately notice her thoughtfulness and empathy, alongside the insight she brings from experience. I thought of myself as resistant to hypnosis, but she put me at ease and guided me through simple practices like envisioning traveling to a place where I can enter into real relaxation. I was surprised that I responded so quickly and that my anxiety issues could be reframed in this safe and peaceful setting.Posted on Bee PattersonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We can’t recommend Rochelle and her Hypnobirthing class enough! After having a traumatic birth experience with our first that resulted in an emergency c-section, we knew trying for a VBAC/TOLOC for our next was going to require mental preparation. While we weren’t very familiar with Hypnobirth before starting, Rochelle was so patient, kind and knowledgeable. Her classes go above and beyond relaxing- they emphasize partner involvement, cover everything and anything birth related and two things I personally found extremely helpful were fear release and breathing exercises! The fact she’s able to meet virtually and work with our schedule for classes was a huge bonus too. There are plenty of skills we learned throughout this birth prep that we’re going to use for years to come in other avenues of our lives. Using the techniques we both learned in class as both the birthing partner and support partner brought us to a beautiful beginning with our baby- one that was calm and aligned so well with our goals and we have Rochelle largely to thank for that. She was an integral part of our care team …even if she wasn’t physically in the room, she made herself available because she is such a genuine soul who cares and wants the best for her clients and their babies. Again- we highly recommend Rochelle and would never have any hesitation in supporting someone’s decision to pursue Hypnobirthing classes with her, regardless if it’s a first or subsequent birth.Posted on Avory JohnsonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I was in terrible pain after a car accident but Rochelle helped me feel better in our first visit. She taught me how to feel and walk better and after a few appointments I could use the relaxation and stop my pain medicine and sleep again. She lives in a different state but it didn’t matter, and we had zoom appointments. I didn’t know that hypnosis could help so much and I am very happy.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust. HypnoBirthing is a technique for achieving a positive, calm and stress-free birth by practicing self hypnosis and breath work, and it’s a superb birth preparation class.
When giving birth with HypnoBirthing, a birthing person is not in a trance or asleep but instead in a state of deep relaxation—awake, aware, and fully in control.
The deep levels of relaxation you’ll experience through self-hypnosis allow parents to eliminate the fear that causes tension and pain. The breath work supports your body during each phase of birth, leading to shorter contractions and shorter birth overall, and the childbirth education and advocacy skills you learn in the virtual HypnoBirthing course help you to birth with confidence and greater comfort.

It can make birth pain-free, yes: HypnoBirthing helps you achieve both modulation and reduction in pain, and by reducing fear and tension, helps you manage the entire process of birth better.
The techniques and mind-set of HypnoBirthing allows parents to perceive the sensations of birth differently. They may never experience sensations of pain, and they absolutely do experience the sensations of birth differently than a non-HypnoBirthing person. This is achieved through the repetition of the relaxation techniques, using breath to assist the physiological process of birth – helping, not fighting with your body – and the elimination of fear, the greatest cause of tension and pain.
When giving birth with HypnoBirthing, a mother is not in a trance or asleep but instead in a state of deep relaxation—awake, aware, and fully in control– a very mindful and comfortable state.

While HypnoBirthing is a natural form of childbirth education, it is not an either/or program. While most HypnoBirthing parents do not desire or use medication or adjunctive birth procedures, they certainly can and do, as warranted and as recommended by their birth providers. The virtual HypnoBirthing class prepares you so well for any turn birth may take that you’ll be able to understand and competently decide for yourself if, when and how you’d like to make decisions regarding birth intervention. You’ll have the information and ability to advocate and choose for yourselves, regardless of where you birth.

It is recommended that parents start a virtual HypnoBirthing class between 20-30 weeks to have the time to take the 5 week, 3 hour a week class and finish before birth, and to allow enough time to become proficient in the relaxation and breath techniques.
Every day of practicing the HypnoBirthing techniques gives you and your developing baby both superb stress management and wonderful calming hormone exposure, which is irreplaceable. I am one of the few HypnoBirthing educators who regularly teaches parents who find out about HypnoBirthing later, very close to birth. It’s never too late to get benefit (if you haven’t given birth!), and I support these clients usually as a doula, as well, as they’ve had a short period in which to prepare. I’ve had parents begin the virtual HypnoBirthing course as late as 38 weeks; starting at 20 weeks is much more beneficial.

Yes! This is one of the most exciting and often surprising aspects of HypnoBirthing for parents. A partner or birth companion attends all the classes, together with the birthing mother. While a Birth Partner has traditionally had a very minor role in birth, or may have been shut out of the process entirely, HypnoBirthing provides Birth Companions with an integral role in birthing as an educated, consulted and necessary advocate and support throughout pregnancy and birth, often changing (for the better) how partners see each other and enriching their relationship in countless ways. It’s an honor and a privilege to serve as a Birth Partner, and HypnoBirthing celebrates this unique role!

The great thing about HypnoBirthing is that it teaches self hypnosis. You are guiding your own relaxation and path to deep calm. As the exercises progress, the birth partner will learn to “deepen” that state of relaxation and help the birthing person to go deeper within the calm state you’ve already learned. It’s gentle and never forced, and always effective.
Because you’ve asked, though, I am a Clinical Hypnotherapist (not all HypnoBirthing educators are, and they don’t need to be) and have never met a person I could not hypnotize, and I’m always available to answer questions or assist with hypnosis. Those who believe that they can’t be hypnotized usually have some of the deepest, most relaxing experiences when they learn HypnoBirthing techniques.

HypnoBirthing, and the thorough childbirth education and birth preference planning, empowers parents with techniques to achieve a gentle, calm birth for themselves and their baby whatever turn their birthing takes. You’ll be prepared for all types of birth situations, planned, and unplanned. This is not a one-size-fits-all program and your birth is first and always guided by you and your baby, your birthing body, and your birth preferences.

The virtual HypnoBirthing course is a wonderful program for parents who are looking for harm reduction and trauma-informed care. Many students have prior traumatic birth experiences, and many desire a VBAC (Vaginal birth after Cesarean). Some are fearful of birth, often associating it with negative prior births or excruciating pain. This causes bodies to tense, stress, and become unable to perform what should be (in most cases) a normal physiological function. HypnoBirthing teaches, through the in-class hypnosis, self hypnosis, and affirmation exercises, how you can release prior emotions that lead to pain-causing fear and resistant muscles. All of my students who’ve experienced prior birth trauma report greater confidence and a freeing sense of accomplishment they never imagined prior to their HypnoBirthing birth, and all of my students thus far who’ve desired a VBAC were able to achieve it!
